Poke me
I had my yearly checkup with my neurologist today and at the end of the appointment I got sent to the lab for my yearly bloodwork. This is the first time in my whole life that they have struggled to get blood out of my veins. I have a big vein in my right arm that has always been my go to guy and it failed me. It would flow really good for a couple of seconds, start trickling, and then stop - then she'd wiggle the needle around and the process repeated itself for 3 viles worth. It was not fun and my arm hurts. The labtech claimed I must be dehydrated and my vein was collasping. Right. I had already consumed almost 32 ounces of water and it was only 11:30am. I'm quite sure I was not dehydrated. I think the labtech was the one messing up. I'm still a tad bitter.

Random weekly recap
What a week. Could be one of the first weeks I have ever worked a full 40 hour week since I graduated from college 7 years ago. I don't know how everyone else does it on a regular basis.
I did get to have T@co Bell with Erika on Monday for her birthday though and that was bliss.
There were zero daycare incidents.
Bri flew out to CA on Thursday and is coming back tonight late. Life is a tad more difficult when he's gone. Sure could have used him this morning when the Jehovah's Witnesses came knocking. To make an extremely long story short, Brady opened the door for them and I was in my underwear. Not good. Or maybe it was because they left immediately.
Speaking of Brady, I let both him and Jayda pick out what they wanted to wear this morning and this was it: (its kind of hard to see but his shirt says happy halloween and his sweat pants are atrocious - Jay did an ok job)

Oo la la
Yesterday Bethany and I discovered the joys of the Human Touch Robotic Massage Chair while we were out shopping. I could not believe it. It actually does a good job - I mean a real good job. Brian could easily be replaced. If everyone in my family pools together their money this could be my next Christmas present. :)I also called our daycare director today to discuss the never ending biting saga. Turns out the biter is now on probation (and was sent home last Thursday) and if anything else happens agains the biter is going to get the boot.
I'm ok with that.

The bite that broke the camel's back
Jayda got bit for the last time today at daycare. I could not believe I had to sign another accident form when I picked her up. (It was the same biter too.) Tomorrow I am informing them that either the biter goes or we go. Enough is enough. The whole thing makes me crabby. If I have to look for a new daycare I am NOT giving them 2 weeks notice.
AND Brian went straight from work to the fire station. He has to spend the night there because of the severe weather. I guess the chief wanted to make sure all of the guys would be readily available for first responder calls. Blah blah. At least he is getting paid for it. Still it makes me crabby.
AND I was informed by my manager at work that I needed to start getting into work earlier and staying for the allotted 8 ½ hours. Doesn’t seem unreasonable, but you should see what other people get away with. On the whole I’m rather saintly in comparison.
It has not been a good week.
According to “The Secret” I’m attracting all of these negative things to me. Must think positive and start attracting good things to me - like a better job and a better daycare.
HA

Bite me
Daycare is really starting to peeve me. Yesterday when I picked up the kids, I had 2 accident report forms to sign. Jayda got bit on the arm by the same kid at 2 separate times. Supposedly the child bit Jayda both times because Jayda took the child’s toy away. So Jayda is kind of at fault for being jerky but that still doesn’t excuse biting. I don’t know what to do. Freaking little toddlers and their little piranha like behavior.
On a happier note – Brady and Zara have been peacefully sleeping the whole night through together. Uninterrupted sleep is bliss.

Brian and Brady made it home safely late yesterday afternoon. (Of course they had to travel during the one and only snowstorm we've had all year.)
Brady wasn’t too happy to be home and called me Grandma on accident a couple of times. I think he would go back tomorrow if I let him. I can already see what the teen years are going to be like.
The pictures are of the driveway yesterday before I attempted to shovel it. (I only got 1/3 of it done when Jayda decided she’d had enough; and judging by how sore my arms are today, it was a good thing we baled early.) And of Brady and Jayda with their new dora and diego bats and balls.

Home from work again
Jayda's got a wretched cough/cold/fever right now and one of the kids in her class at daycare has pneumonia. Yikes! It seems like the past 2 weeks have hit a lot people hard with the cough/cold/fever. No fun.
Despite being sick and having a rough night last night (see our pic from this morning) Jayda is still quite full of it: stealing gummy bears, sharing her beloved blanket with the dog etc. Its going to be a long weekend. I can't wait for Brian and Brady to come back home. Speaking of Brady, he's having the time of his life at my parents house and doesn't miss me at all.

A better day
I took the day off of work today; just wasn't a good day for work. Instead I slept in, watched Regis and Kelly while I ran on the treadmill, went out to lunch with Erika at Hell's Kitchen, got my hair fixed at Aveda, and then took the dogs on a walk. I was going to clean too but decided against it. Besides its almost time for me to go and pick up Jay.
Here are pics of my fixed hair and Jayd being cute.

Dark Golden Blonde (Warm)
That sounds like it would produce good results right? WRONG!I look like a carrot. Real hot.
Looks like my self coloring efforts to try and save money backfired. Now I'm going to pay out the wazoo at Aveda to try and get them to fix it.
From the side it doesn't look too bad. Unfortunately I can't walk around sideways all day.

Be careful what you wish for it might come true
I cannot count how many times I've said it would be sooo nice to have the kids stay with their grandparents for a week, and now that one of them actually is, I'm sad. Figures. I know he'll have fun; he loves being at my parents house and he loves all of the animals but still... I miss him already.
Here he is this morning with his little bag and stuffed animal. He couldn't wait to get going. :( Boo hoo!

Celebrate Valentines Day with Free Shipping!
Agh its everywhere! You can't escape it! And I fell victim to their ploys. Free shipping justifies almost any purchase. Almost. ;)Not a whole lot going on for vday at our house. The kids have parties at daycare and Brian and I are meeting today for a lunchtime rendezvous. :P Almost time to go.
Happy Valentine's Day!

The weekend
Besides the usual exercise, cleaning, and laundry last weekend, we also did our taxes, went out to eat at Famous Daves with some friends, and went sledding. It was a nice weekend. Nice to exercise, nice to get chores done and out of the way, nice to see friends and go out to eat, nice to play in the snow, but what was nicest of all was getting $$ back from the government. Yay!

The latest news
This week I had 3 appointments:
- Eye doctor for Brady - good news, his eyes are improving and we ordered him new lenses with a lesser prescription
- Pediatrician for Jayda's 2 year - she's healthy but a peanut - 42% for height and 9% for weight
- Veternarian for Zessie - she's healthy but needed a whole bunch of shots and junk I didn't think she needed - oops more $$ on a dog that Bri didn't want
Brian left to go snowmobiling again this weekend. It is soo cold. I cannot even imagine how that is enjoyable. To each his own I guess.
That's pretty much it. Here are some pics of my favorite subjects. :)
