Little update

So last night Brian's mom sent us a package in the mail; in it were clothes for Jayda, which she loved, and a birthday present for me. You can't really tell by the picture, but I got a pandora bracelet. Anyone who knows how easily addicted I get to things, knows that me getting a pandora bracelet was not a good thing... My bracelet came with two charms on it and I want at least 20 more. Sure do wish $$ grew on trees. Sure do wish our economy wasn't so scary right now...

And in other news. Poor little Shady got stung by a wasp last night and her entire face is swollen. She had a bad allergic reaction. Poor dog. Thank God for benadryl or she might not be here. And thank God for the vet clinic in Marquette. Stinking rotten vet clinic in ho-town closes down at 5. If you need pet care after hours you are s-o-l. I'm so peeved about that right now. No emergency care. No emergency number to call. Better hope your pet doesn't have an accident after hours or it will die. I'm soooo mad.

Remember this?

Well that take didn't take. So my parents bred poor little Shady again at the end of July. Sure enough...

It took. Poor dog. I took this pic of her over labor day and she was already getting huge.

Thankfully, she is out of her misery now. :) And my parents now have 9 little puppies on their hands.

Comments

Wow – I’ve been such a blogging pile lately. And the longer I stay away from it, the easier it is to keep staying away. But finally, finally, I got caught up on everyone’s blogs and am taking the lazy way out to comment:

Friends
Abbey – Loved the staycation. I could use one of those. Your girls are so cute and you all look so happy.
Al – You and bro are the luckiest people alive. How you manage to win things and score good deals all of the time is beyond me. The girls are adorable, especially with your “photoshopping.” Cute cute cute!
Angel – Brooklyn is gorgeous and I want to see belly pics as soon as you have them!
April – Great minds think alike. ;) Ha ha. I still miss working with you. Looking forward to seeing you soon and so are my kids: “You mean big Ethan and big Alivya? Yay!”
Danielle – Love to read about your races and hear stories about your son and dog. Kids, pets, exercise, and reading are my favorite things.
Erika – Awwww Alex on a school bus kills me. I still miss working with you too!
Jamie – Look at your cute family. I love that everyone loves the new baby so much! I also loved seeing pics of your mom and Kim. :)
Kris – I need to check your flickr page and of course, I still miss working with you as well!
Liz – Man do you make me laugh! You are such a good story teller. :) Loved poor Zac’s shirt.
Michelle – I wish you all the sleep you can get!!! :) Your family (dog included) are so precious!
Risa – Loved seeing all of your pics! Also loved Jozie’s new shoes. ;) I’m going to freak when Jayda’s feet are as big as mine – boo hoo! (and I’m going to have to hide my shoes) ;)
Sally – Mango Dude – its time for an update. :)
Amie – even though you’re not on my list you should be, I keep tabs on you. You are truly mom and sewer extraordinaire. And I loved your post on blogging angst.
Family
Emily – Beautiful girls, beautiful mom, coincidence, I think not. :) Hugs!
Lucy – I love reading about your life with Magnolia. It always makes me smile. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE your pictures. You are a professional. :)

Since my last post

The kids and I went to the UP over labor day to visit my parents. We had tons of fun playing with the animals, swimming in their pool (as it was 90 degrees, crazy hot for up there), and picking berries.
Then when I got back, Brian's parents came to stay with the kids while Brian and I both went out of town for business. Brian went to Dallas and I went to Denver. That was the first time that ever happened, but the kids did well and thoroughly enjoyed their time with Grandpa and Grandma. Brian was gone for 3 days, I was gone for 5. I fared the worst out of all of them. Then, when I got back, it was back to the rat race, and then I came down with a crap hole cold and am just now feeling better. So that's about it. Up and coming events are birthdays and the marathon. Can't wait!

Here are some of our latest pics. Making salsa and posing with our gargantuan sunflowers.

Boo Allergies You Stink!

Man, I've heard of dogs getting allergies, just never thought my dog would get them and that they could wreak so much havoc! She scratched herself bloody! Poor thing.

So this morning I made a vet appointment for her and as luck would have it, Jayda woke up sick this morning sick too. So needless to say, I'm home today.

The fun vet bill. Ear infection, allergies, antibiotics, steroids, medicated shampoo. Nice.

This is why my blog is titled Fun Times!? ;)

What a weekend...

This weekend:
  • We went to Brian's FD picnic
  • We went to the state fair
  • Brady learned how to ride a 2 wheeler
  • I ran the longest I'll run now before the marathon (24 miles)

Busy and fun!

Sad sad

My Grandpa on my Dad's side of the family passed away last night. He was 90 years old and suffering from cancer big time. Poor guy. My heart goes out to my Dad and all of the family on that side. :(

Guess who finally got a hair cut...

Every once in a while I get an idea in my head and just have to see it through, right now, this very minute, even though I should probably wait and think it through a little more. As was the case last night... I decided Jayda's hair was just too scraggly to take anymore, so I whipped out the scissors and snip snip snip her long locks were gone. I kind of wish I would have waited to take her to a professional, but then I think its only hair, it will grow back. And now it looks healthier too.
