Miraculously, our yard/house was relatively unharmed, but the rest of the neighborhood didn't fare as well. :( (The pictures below were taken by my mom.)

On Grandma's Watch
My mom stayed with the kids while Brian and I were out gallivanting (see above), and on her watch, the kids acquired 3 new goldfish and lived through their first real tornado. Being so far away from them while the tornados were passing through was so hard!! Talk about angst! I am so thankful that my mom was with them, and kept them safe and happy.
Miraculously, our yard/house was relatively unharmed, but the rest of the neighborhood didn't fare as well. :( (The pictures below were taken by my mom.)

Update
So crimesville turned out to be jokesville. Another neighbor playing a practical joke. Would have been kind of funny if the police hadn't been called...
Oh well, its nice to know that people really haven't stooped so low as to steal other people's flowers.

Crimesville
So apparently someone is stealing hanging baskets from our neighborhood. My next door neighbor spent around $100 on her three baskets, and they kind of looked like this:
Only bigger, and prettier, and last night someone took them. She called the police to file a report and they said another house in the hood had their hanging baskets stolen too. What a bunch of poo. Thankfully the thieves are selective - only going for the $30+ baskets instead of the measely $19.99 baskets that my house sports. But still - I feel so bad for her. And how to you stop them? She claims she's going to buy more and duct tape them to the stand. Don't think that will really stop them though. What do you do?? What would you do to deter yard theft? They already have motion sensor lights - they own a loud German Shepard, her husband is even a cop for pete's sake. I'm just flabbergasted. If anyone comes near my yard I'm going to sic Zara Z on them.

Over the weekend Jayda scored some new shoes and I scored some new flowers.
Note: Jayda's shoes are too big. They didn't have her size, but do you think that would stop her? No way! There was absolutely no reasoning with her... and honestly, I didn't try too hard. They are pretty cute. Wish they had my size!

Yard work sucks, but the end result is so worth it. Now my little flowers just need to grow grow grow!

Field Trip!
If I ever were to leave uniboonie, I would seriously miss the fun things we do here. I doubt any other company takes as many field trips... Our latest trip was to the Minnesot@ History Center. Besides enjoying the exhibits, I had tons of fun watching all of the grade schoolers run around. Made me sad because in the not to distant future, that will be Brady and Jayda. I'm not ready for that yet!!!!

The happy little signers
2 moms (grandmas) + 3 grandmas (great grandmas) = 7 cards! And Brady and Jayda couldn't be happier. It is so cute how important they feel signing cards. :)

Visit with the Z's
Bri's parents came for a visit this weekend. Good times. They brought tons of stuff for the kids including these scooters - Princess for Jayda, Spiderman for Brady - perfect! If only the weather was as perfect... there's nothing like tooling around in the kitchen instead of on the sidewalks. ;)

Spiderman - spiderman
Spidey on day 1
Spidey 10 days later - not sure if he actually grew up to 600% of his size - but he is bigger...
I think we're actually going to miss him now that he's done growing. He was almost like a member of the family. Every day we'd check on him to see how he was doing: "So how's Spiderman today? Get any bigger?"
BTW - for all of you dying to grow your own Spiderman: see your nearest T@rget's dollar section.

Roadkill Tuesday
I'm sad and grossed out. I saw so much roadkill on my way into work this morning that I'm still severely disturbed. Poor little guys... and even though this isn't really funny at all... all of that roadkill reminded me of this picture that circulates time and time again through email.
