Jay got bit at daycare again - on the face no less. Poor kid. Makes me crabby.

Celebrate Valentines Day with Free Shipping!
Agh its everywhere! You can't escape it! And I fell victim to their ploys. Free shipping justifies almost any purchase. Almost. ;)Not a whole lot going on for vday at our house. The kids have parties at daycare and Brian and I are meeting today for a lunchtime rendezvous. :P Almost time to go.
Happy Valentine's Day!

The weekend
Besides the usual exercise, cleaning, and laundry last weekend, we also did our taxes, went out to eat at Famous Daves with some friends, and went sledding. It was a nice weekend. Nice to exercise, nice to get chores done and out of the way, nice to see friends and go out to eat, nice to play in the snow, but what was nicest of all was getting $$ back from the government. Yay!

The latest news
This week I had 3 appointments:
- Eye doctor for Brady - good news, his eyes are improving and we ordered him new lenses with a lesser prescription
- Pediatrician for Jayda's 2 year - she's healthy but a peanut - 42% for height and 9% for weight
- Veternarian for Zessie - she's healthy but needed a whole bunch of shots and junk I didn't think she needed - oops more $$ on a dog that Bri didn't want
Brian left to go snowmobiling again this weekend. It is soo cold. I cannot even imagine how that is enjoyable. To each his own I guess.
That's pretty much it. Here are some pics of my favorite subjects. :)

Found a dog - lost a husband
Just kidding. I almost did though. Saying that Brian is not happy about the new dog is the understatement of the year. Yesterday was rough (ruff) but many tears later I still have the dog.
Here are some pics from my mom's camera, she took them while we were at PetSmart on Saturday. These are 2 of the biggest dogs I've ever seen. One was an Irish Wolfhound named William and the other was an English Mastif named Jaba (as in Jaba the Hut). Huge dogs!

A new addition afterall
My Mom came down on Friday and we picked up her new puppy, Mattie, from the airport and then today we went to Adopt a Pet day at PetSmart and picked up my new 7 month old puppy, Zessie. She is a total sweetie. Good to the kids, good with other dogs, good to cats, a tad clingy and a little bit scared but overall an A+. Brian might not see it that way... fortunately he has time to get used to the idea. Nothing like 7 hours in the car to stew about a dog he didn't want. Hee hee. See what happens when you go away on snowmobiling trips. Ha.

I Am Weird
All right fine I'll do it. Thanks Jamie. Reader beware.
THE RULES: Each player of this game starts with the 7 weird things about you. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 7 weird things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 7 people to be tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave a comment that says you are tagged in their comments and tell them to read your blog.
***Fortunately for everyone I don't have 7 other blogging friends, so my tag ends here.***
1. When I was little my mom had to put me in a headlock to squeeze any zit or pimple I had and I hated it. Absolutely hated it! Now, when I have a zit I can't reach, I beg her to squeeze it for me. AND I beg Bri to let me squeeze his zits. Disgusting. Yet so much fun.
2. It takes me 20 minutes to get ready for bed because I have to do the exact same set of steps every single night. OCD? Yes, I'm pretty sure I have it.
3. Along those same OCD lines, I cannot leave anything a mess, even if it makes me late for things. Dr. appointments, work, etc. I would rather be late than leave things messy.
4. I really want more dogs and I wish I could be like the dog whisperer. (I want more cats too but Brian would leave me for sure.)
5. When I was younger I used to be tubby tubby 2x4 and I have stretch marks from that but didn't get any from being pregnant twice.
6. I watched Talladega Nights and thought it was hysterical.
7. Thank God its finally #7... I'm super pyscho about things not being messy but then I'll go and not dust for weeks. Maybe I'm not OCD afterall.

No dog
To make a long story short - it is coming tomorrow after all. Its going to work out better this way since my mom will be here to go and get it with me. I'm excited for her. Its like her new baby. And I have spent considerable time emailing back and forth with her over names. Someone should come up with a "What to name the dog" book.
In other news, Brian is leaving today to go snowmobiling again and I'm back to being a single parent. Honestly, my admiration goes out to everyone out there who is a single mom or dad. I don't know how they do it - my kids wear me out! And by the time the weekend is over with, I'm feeling a little (ok a lotta) insane. I'm such a wimp.
Picture of the day: George - the cat who rarely makes an appearance.

My latest excitement
Tomorrow my Mom's new puppy (Greater Swiss Mountain Dog) is flying from PA to MN. It wasn't supposed to fly out until Friday but I guess the temperature won't be high enough, so tomorrow it is. I'm so excited to see this little (er big) thing. I'll have her for 2 whole days before my Mom comes down to get her. If it turns out she's more potty trained then not, I think I'll dognap her. :)

So long crapolier - I’d say it’s been fun but it really hasn’t
On Saturday we went and traded in the cavalier for a Pontiac Montana SV6. Brian is still slightly mortified that we own a minivan but what can you do? Economical is our way of life now. AND it is going to make my life ever so much easier.
Here are some pics – you can tell the kids missed their nap while we were at the dealership. :)

Smooth real smooth
So I had a little incident today on my morning run with Jen...
Apparently I was not looking at the road and tripped over an ice chunk or something. Next thing I know I'm on the ground spitting out gravel. Happy day.
Its not as bad as it could have been, I only I conked my chin and lip, ripped my knees up, did something to my left thumb, and scraped my right shoulder. Right after it happened I couldn't see and my ears were ringing, I also felt like I was going to boot. Poor Jen was worried that I had a mild concussion so she flagged some guy down and asked to use his cell phone to call for her husband to come and pick us up. Fun times.
After a shower and some sleep I feel tons better. So crisis averted. Next time watch the road dummy!
For everyone longing to see some of the damage here it is. ;)

Slippers and Sleep
Or maybe I should say no sleep because in opposite world maybe that means sleep. (Yes, I have watched the movie Cars way too many times. Thanks Brady.)
Honestly though, if I don't win the war against sleep soon I'm going to pull all of my hair out.
Hard to stay mad at the anti-sleepers when they look so cute...

Weekend fun
Didn't do a whole lot over the weekend. Brian was in the yoop snowmobiling so I was home with the kids.
Friday I did laundry - exciting.
Saturday, on a whim, I took the kids to Walmart to get their pictures taken. I thought I would just get the cheapy package and only spend like $10. Didn't quite turn out that way. $100 later I was done paying for all of my pictures. I'm such a sucker! And since I ordered 2 16x20s I have to go out and spend more money on frames for those honkers. Smart.
Sunday, after Jayda decorated some more of the walls (I really am burning all of the markers in the house for sure now) we went Brooke's birthday party.

It was a relatively uneventful weekend but I'm exhausted. I was ever so happy to see Monday (and daycare) roll around again.

Most does not mean all - duh
Explore the wonder of color using Crayola® Color Wonder™. Color Wonder is a unique ink, developed by Crayola scientists, that appears only on special paper. The ink is clear on most surfaces, but each marker "magically" shows up a different color on Color Wonder paper. Color Wonder is great for craft projects, too. Check out Arts & Crafts that use Color Wonder™, and enjoy mess-free creativity!
In case anyone was wondering: Crayola wonder markers DO appear on painted walls.
Never leave your child unattended with markers of any kind. F- for me in parenting again.

Uncles and Birthday
The Uncles

In every child's life may there fall an Uncle Ben and an Uncle Dave (unrelated of course) who like to buy your children the best presents and ask nothing in return. Thanks guys - the kids are officially spoiled.

The Birthday
Tomorrow is Jayda's birthday. Hard to believe she's already going to be 2. Where did the time go?? Here she is this morning before daycare: she just had to wear one of her new bday outfits (even though its not seasonally appropriate).

We're back
There was some New Year's drama: Zara bit my older brother and Brady and Brian came down with the flu, but overall the visit to the yoop was fun and it stinks to be back at work.
Here are the little munchkins by my parent's front porch.
And here is a picture from lunch on Saturday. It was sooo nice to see old friends again.
