Gingerbread Train

We had our first object in the nose incident last night while we were making our gingerbread train. And the worst part of all was that I could have prevented the whole mess if I hadn’t been so camera happy.

Here’s what happened:

We pulled out the gingerbread kit and start unloading all of the pieces: candy, frosting, gingerbread, etc. and the kids go crazy over the candy and are shoveling it in their mouths at warp speed. Of course, I think this is hilarious, so I go and grab my camera. Next thing I know Brady is saying how good the candy is and is pointing to his nose. I’m like what? Why are you pointing to your nose? And he tells me his nose likes the candy too. What inspires kids to stick things up their nose??? So first we try and have him blow it out, but it wasn’t budging, so then I go and grab the suction bulb to try and suck out the candy but stupid me just ended up shoving the little ball further up his nostril. It was at the point of no return, so we just let it go. Brian was convinced that it would dissolve on its own and sure enough, he ended up having orange colored snot dripping out of his nose for the rest of the night. When we checked his nose after bath is was gone. Whew survived another one. At least it wasn’t a Lego…

LOL THAT is so funny! Boys do the craziest things, don't they? So far our kids haven't stuck anything up their nose or in their ear or anything, but I can see Gabe doing something of that nature. Those are such cute pics! You're such a good mommy and still as beautiful as ever;) I love seeing you in the pics too! I'm a bit nervous to buy one of those kits. Is it fairly easy to do? At least you didn't have to go to the ER!

Aw thanks Jam. I feel the same way about you when I see your pics and all of the activities you do with your kids.

Buy the kits. They are easy and fun. I got mine from Target for $8.00.

I tried to post a comment on the last blog you left but it wasn't working for some reason. That video of the little boy was soooo sad. I did cry. You can't watch things like that without thinking about your own kid. :(

That's funny! We haven't been there yet either but only God knows how with a kid like Luke in the house! Levi put a peanut in his nose when he was little - I STILL remember it! - and said that he was saving it for later. The peanut DIDN'T dissolve and my parents had to take him to the ER to have it pumped to his stomach! :P

We did a gingerbread house last year and the kids LOVED it! I went OVERBOARD and baught one of the big kits, you can see it if you check my archives from last year on my blog. I even found a recipe for frosting that was WONDERFUL! SO much better than the stuff that comes in the kits.
