Friday's fun

Took the cat to the vet today. She is old (15), has diabetes, hyperthyroidism, and irritable bowel syndrome. She also has an aversion to using the litter box. Ultra gross I know. Whenever we complain about her litter box issue everyone says "Did you take her to the vet? Maybe its not just behavioral, maybe she has something medically wrong." So I took her to the vet and $258 later they tell me her litter box issue is just behavioral. They also said that her meds need to be switched for all of her other problems. More $$. I cried. Then I cried some more for thinking that for only $100 we could have had her put to sleep. Ugh! Where did that come from??? Money is so evil. Bottom line is I could never put Mae down unless she were truly on death's doorstep. The kids love her too much and she's a saint for putting up with them.

But still $$ doesn't grow on trees so for Christmas this year the kids get Mae as a present. ;)

Haha. Cute pics. I'm not a fan of cats, but still...poor cat.

We have a cat that old, Busil, or at least Uncle Kimmy and Aunt Darlene have her now. IF she is still alive (I haven't asked about her in awhile) she is about 19 years old. She is an old barn cat that has been drug down our driveway (the farm) by her tail being slammed in someones car door, she got ran over by a car (my mom, in the same driveway) and has had countless other "lives" that are too many to remember. She was great with the kids too. We miss her a lot.
I think your kids will like their Christmas present this year! :)

I can't believe you still have her! I remember when you got that kitty! Risa, if you read this, last I heard she got ran over but was still ok, but I haven't asked about her in awhile myself.
