Fun times

The weekend flew by...
  • Friday night I went grocery shopping with the kids. Went out to the parking lot with a full cart and 2 cranky kids and discovered I had locked my keys in the van.
  • Saturday day Brady and Jayda's friend Natalee came over to play. I miss the warm summer days! It was so much nicer when they destroyed the yard instead of the inside of the house.
  • Saturday night we went to the Twins vs Tigers game with Bethany's family. The kids were operating on no naps and were pulling the usual stunts. I got to see maybe a quarter of the game.
  • Sunday we went to a baptism party for Mike and Renee's son Brett. Again the kids went sans nap and were glued to my hip/leg the entire 2 1/2 hours we were there.

Fun times!!!!

Actually, the game was pretty fun. It was really good to see Bethany and her family. And the Tigers won - although I would have been just as happy if the Twins won. Cumulatively, I've live in MN just about as long as MI, so my loyalty is on the fence. ;)

Yep

I went home empty handed but in about a week or so, this cuff ring is being shipped to me. It was $40 and believe it or not, one of the cheapest things available. I think I'll like it though.
I did show some backbone when I declined the offer to host my own Silpada show. (Erika and April I know you are offering up a small prayer of thanks for that one.)

Any bets?

I'm going to a jewelry party tonight. Its for Silpada. I have never heard of that before so I said yes I would go before I went and checked out the website. Yikes! You could buy that stuff at Kohls or Target for a quarter of the price. So now I'm stuck going and I don't want to buy anything. Any bets on whether or not I'll be able to walk away empty handed? I'm bringing Jayda with me with hopes that she'll help me get out of there sooner. We'll see...

Procrastination ...

... is the devil. As you can probably tell from my lack of posts lately, I am suffering from it big time. Ever since labor day I just haven't felt like thinking. I've been putting off
  • Starting a craphole project at work.
  • Organizing the kids clothes for fall.

  • Organizing my pictures.

  • Getting my hair re-colored.

  • Blogging.

I have however

  • Been making loaf after loaf of Amish Friendship Bread (thanks to my mom for giving me 2 starters). I made my last loaf on Sunday and now I am done with it. Thank goodness for friends who willing took loaves off my hands or I would be tubby tubby 2x4. Those loaves are so good I could eat a whole one all by myself.

  • Got all of our carpets cleaned. Then guess what happens?? Zessie pukes all over the place and now we have 3 nice new stains on our nice clean carpet. That so figures.

  • Booked Brady's b-day party at the brunswick zone. He is so excited.

  • Reserved a hotel room in St. Ignace. My Mom, the kids, and I are going to Mackinac Island for our birthdays. I am way excited about that one.

  • Reserved a space at the boarding kennel for our dogs when we go to AZ in October.
  • Painted my and Jayda's nails last Saturday before we went out with Mike and Renee's fam. She had red with green dots, I had green with red dots. I LOVE being able to do this kind of stuff with her!!

Itsy witsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini

Yesterday at lunch I went over to Old Navy to check out their fall preview sale - I was not disappointed. Great sale - super cute stuff. I couldn't help but wander into the kids section too and I found a bikini for Jayda for next year for only $1.97. Of course, when I got home and was unloading my purchases Jayda spotted it and immediately stripped down and put it on. Its too big, but that didn't stop her from parading around in it. And guess what she wanted to wear to daycare today... Yep. So she has on the bikini top under her shirt.

Probably the funniest thing about all of this is that after I sent these pictures to Brian, he sent me a message back saying: "I have to admit, I'm a bit disturbed now." (Because of the pics of Jayda with the neighbor boy, which isn't my fault; he was over playing with Brady, but as soon as I got the camera out he wanted to be in the pic too.)

Clothes from Grandma

Yesterday Brian's mom sent us a package in the mail filled with clothes for the kids. Brady went right for the box the stuff came in.

And Jayda went right for the new package of underwear she found in the box. Not only did she put a new pair on herself, but then she put the other 2 pairs on her dolls. Crazy kid.

Weekend happenings

Friday night we had dinner with Bethany, Isaac, and Micah.

Saturday we had an FD picnic to go to. As usual, neither of my kids participated in any games and clung to me the whole time. Turns out poor little Brady had a good excuse, he came down with a fever and didn't feel good for the rest of the weekend.

And Jayda has a new obsession: stripping the clothes off of her babies and trying to put diapers on them. Kind of hard when the diaper is almost as big as the baby is. Doesn't stop her though. :)

Some nights are just like that

Last night consisted of
  • Holding up the checkout line at Rainbow foods because Brady and Jayda did not want to put away their little "shopper in training" carts so that we could get a bigger cart to load our bagged groceries into. Funny how the food fits in the little carts before it is bagged but not after. After recieveing dirty looks from the cashier, bagger, and the long line of customers behind us, we finally made our way out of the store.
  • Finding wet shorts on the floor of the kitchen and pee-peed and poo-pooed in underwear on a little girl who was laying on her bed. Gross very gross.
  • Changing said girl and cleaning up her bed and the kitchen floor.
  • Fishing a car out of the toilet. Yes Brady dropped yet another one in there.
  • Cleaning up more poo off of the floor after the little girl above couldn't (or didn't want to) make it to the toilet in time for her second poo of the night.
Fun times.

In fact, I should change the title of my blog to fun times. It seems like I end a lot of my posts that way. > : [

Potty Training

Jayda has been using the potty for peeing ever since she moved into the toddler room at daycare (which was over 8 months ago) but I didn't have the courage to send her to daycare in undies until last Thursday, and that was only because she insisted. She stayed dry all day and got a little award. Too cute. She seems to have no troubles staying dry at daycare. If only she were so trouble free at home... Now that she knows how good underwear feel (and how pretty they are) she doesn't want anything to do with pull-ups anymore. God help me. I need to constantly remind myself and her that she needs to go potty every 1 hour 1 1/2 or else there will be messes to clean up. Over the last 2 days we went through 6 pairs of underwear. Fun times. I am proud of her though. Brady didn't want anything to do with potty training until he turned 3.

Fun Day

Friday night we had "fun day" at daycare. Everything was free. The petting zoo was by far the main attraction. I felt sorry for the fire truck and police car, they definitely played second fiddle to the animals.

The petting zoo gave me ideas for the kid's birthdays...

So that was fun

This was our night last night. The kids didn't go to bed until 11:30 - and when they did it was in my bed. Ugh - August storms! It could have been worse though, as in tornados, so I really shouldn't complain.

Happy Tuesday!

Picnic

Brian's work had a picnic out at Lake Independence on Sunday. The kids had tons of fun. The beach was pretty decent and so was the playground. I think we might visit again before the summer ends.

Fun in the city

Last night I met Kris and Erika downtown for dinner at the Melting Pot. Let me tell you - it was quite yummy in my tummy. Today I feel like a cow though.

I was the ultimate tourist when I snapped this shot. I thought it was so neat to see the horses downtown, and kind of ironic to see all the modes of transportation grouped together - all we were missing was the bus, and the picture would be complete. ;)

I just had to get a picture of the three of us. I've waited forever to see Kris pregnant. ;) So cute. Problem with being around pregnant people is that it kind of makes me want to have a #3. I can hardly handle two, so I must put thoughts like that out of my head!

Happy Friday!

Today's little picture guessing game

This first picture is just one of my flowers gone wild. They have gotten so big. No guessing here.

This second picture is where your guess comes in. Do you know what kind of flowers these are?

And lastly, try and guess what is going on in this picture.

30, flirty, and fabulous

We celebrated some birthdays this weekend. Friday night it was Daddy Z's birthday and Saturday it was Brian and his friend Chris' birthday. I was totally shirking on my camera taking duties and did not get very many party pics. I was however able to wrangle together a picture of the kids by bribing them with tootsie rolls and a movie.

Thanks to everyone who came over. And poop on everyone who wouldn't try a lowfat chicken, asiago cheese, and spinach brat. Babies. Erika I hope you didn't get sick off of the way too pink monster burger - should have had a brat. ;)

We're ok

How sad and tragic though. My stomach has been churning ever since I found out the bridge collasped yesterday. I have never been more thankful that Brian is out in MD, because if he had been at home, he would have been traveling over the bridge around that time.

I feel so bad for everyone involved. Makes me feel like a terd for carrying on like normal. In fact today our work group is going to the dock cafe out in stillwater for lunch. Seems kind of wrong.

Good old softball

Last night I brought the kids with me to the softball playoffs. They watched the game for all of 5 minutes before they were climbing and jumping off of the bleachers and tearing through the parking lot. Then Brady informs me he has to poop. So we go over to the port-a-potty only for him to say its too stinky in there to poop and he'll hold it until we get home. He then of course lets out room clearing farts for the rest of the night.

Fun times.
